Poco has released a number of outstanding phones this year, most of which have been well received by customers. However, one of these devices has recently made headlines, and for all the wrong reasons. The Poco X3 Pro, which was released in India in March, has made headlines again when an Indian Twitter user, Aman Bhardwaj (@Ammybhardwaj13), claimed that his Poco X3 Pro caught fire within 5 minutes of being taken from the charger.

The Twitter user also supplied photographs of the phone as well as a receipt for the phone’s purchase. The phone was purchased on June 15, 2021, according to the information supplied. The photographs supplied by the Twitter user depict the phone after it caught fire. The phone is pictured burnt, with the device’s battery bulging out, implying a possible explosion. Interestingly, the photograph also shows a scorched blanket on the bed, possibly as a result of the explosion. The only silver lining here is that no one was hurt during the explosion, and no substantial damage was done to the surrounding area. It’s also worth noting that the user has currently removed the tweet.

However, not before the situation drew the attention of Poco India, which has since made a comment on the subject. It clarified its position by saying: “Customer safety is of the utmost priority to Poco India, and we take it very seriously. All of our products are subjected to a series of demanding quality checks to ensure that the device’s quality is not compromised at any point. Based on our technical analysis, the gadget appeared bent, and the LCM (liquid crystal module) was crushed, indicating that external force was used. As a result, this is characterized as “consumer induced damage.”
